This Is My Career Programme is a pilot 12 week programme supporting individual and entrepreneurs to kick start there new careers. The participants have access to a business coach and are provided with skills, knowledge and confidence required to support new career or business goals.

This project is funded by Big Lottery as part of the Covid19 Response programme.

Support for diverse small business or community groups, representing arts, sports, fitness, nutrition and young people, that are struggling to survive. You will receive business coaching and support planning for the future and the getting your business ready for ‘new normal.
Support for individuals who have been made redundant, seeking employment or just looking for a change in career. You will receive personal development coaching and support with developing your career and useful tips such as CV writing and interview skills.

Jackie Cummins, J21 Coaching

Award Winning Coach & Mentor Jackie Cummins, established her business J21 Coaching 9 years ago and during this time has worked with a range of professionals with their aims and objectives for achieving greater results.

Jackie’s key areas in Coaching & Mentoring are: Business, Career & Personal Development and she will work with you on a range of areas that include; limiting beliefs, procrastination, change management, confidence/self belief issues, business growth and career opportunities.
With a calm and measured approach Jackie does all possible to bring out the best in her clients to ensure that they make improvements, break bad habits and tackle any challenges that are blocking a client from moving forward..

Jackie prides herself on her results for her clients and holds them all accountable for their actions.

Dawn Carr

TIMC Project Lead & Outreach Coordinator

Dawn Carr is currently part of This Is My City Community Outreach support team. Dawn is a Level 3 Fitness Coach and is also qualified to do exercise referral for mental health and diabetes. Dawn is currently undertaking a MRes and researching the impact of social prescribing and its implementation at a local level.
Her expertise enables her to develop user-led programmes, build community capacity, and deliver accessible interactive workshops for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Angela Kumah

Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Angela Kumah is currently conducting a PhD research at Birmingham University, aimed at improving culturally sensitive mental health promotion among Black African and Afro-Caribbean communities in Birmingham.
Angela spport various project run by UCAN Birmingham’s outreach team within her capacity as a Clinical Psychologist. As a mental health expert, she can provide support with anxiety and wellbeing.
